Jenderal Ahmad Yani

Ahmad Yani was born in Jenar, Purworejo, Central Java on June 19, 1922 in the Wongsoredjo family, a family working at a sugarfactory run by a Dutch owner

After Indonesian Independence was recognized by the Dutch, Yani was transferred to Tegal, Central Java. In 1952, he was called back to action to fight the Darul Islam, a rebel group that sought to establish a theocracy in Indonesia. To deal with this rebel group, Yani formed a special forces group called The Bull Raiders. The decision to call Yani dividends is paid and over the next 3 years, Darul Islam forces in Central Java suffer one defeat after another.

In August 1958, he ordered Operation August 17 against the Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Indonesia rebels in West Sumatra. His troops recaptured Padang and Bukittinggi, and this success led to him being promoted to the second deputy head of the army of staff on September 1, 1962, and then the Army Chief of staff on November 13, 1963 (automatically becoming a cabinet member), succeeding General Nasution.

Jendral TNI (posthumous) Ahmad Yani was one of the Heroes of the Revolution, a hero who died as a result of the G 30 S / PKI rebellion

In political view, Ahmad Yani did not agree and was always opposed to the PKI. When the PKI tried to form the 5th force which consisted of armed farm workers, Ahmad Yani immediately refused. This is the reason why he was included in the PKI's kidnapping and murder target in 1965.

Together with the other seven army officers, he was kidnapped and killed and his body was inserted into an old well in Lubang Buaya area through a G30 S / PKI rebellion operation

Chronology, when dawn on October 1, Ahmad Yani was shot in front of his bedroom. After a search the following day, Ahmad Yani's body was then buried respectfully at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, South Jakarta

He and the seven officers who were victims of the PKI's ferocity were later named as Heroes of the Revolution and his rank was posthumously promoted, which the Lieutenant initially became General

General Ahmad Yani has received many honorary stars such as Bintang RI Class II, Bintang Sakti and Bintang Gerilya

The General is the great hero of Indonesia. His services are very much for this country. therefore we should respect and imitate it. By imitating his attitude we have respected every service. So we must always imitate it
